What is SCRIP? SCRIP is a St. George’s school fund raiser. You purchase gift certificates from over thousands of local and national vendors from school, and the vendor agrees to give a percentage of that amount back to the school. Where do the scrip certificates come from? GLSC and St. George SCRIP purchases the certificates directly from the retailers. The certificates we provide to our coordinators are the same gift certificates you would buy if you went to the participating retailer and purchased them yourself. There are thousands of national vendors (i.e. Wal Mart, JC Penney, Kohl’s, Applebee’s, BP, Lowes, etc. and over 40 local vendors (Hermann area) (i.e. Hermann grocery stores, restaurants, discount stores, florists, etc). See our order form for the vendors. How do I know what vendors participate? A full list of national and local vendors is enclosed on this website. You may also look up www.glscrip.com for updates, etc. on national vendors. What does this cost me? There is no extra cost to you just pay for the amount of the gift certificate. (i.e. you purchase a $25 certificate from your specified vendor and that's it.) Where does the donation back from the vendors go? Half of the percentage donated back goes directly to the school, the other half you can choose to donate towards either a 1) specific school family’s tuition, 2) directly to the school, 3) St. George Church Education Fund, 4) Church of the Risen Saviors Education Fund, or 5) St. Paul’s Education Fund. Can I use the scrip certificates anywhere? Yes, the certificates are accepted at all participating retailer locations unless specified on the order form. Is there a minimum amount of certificates that I have to order? There is no minimum order amount. Do I have to order every week? How often can I order? There are no requirements for ordering. You can order as frequently or infrequently as you wish. St. George SCRIP program, places orders on Monday’s at 9:00 A.M. and will be ready for pick up by Friday afternoon. Can I use scrip to pay department store charge account balances? A few retailers allow you to pay charge account balances with scrip, but generally speaking, most do not. GLSC coordinators can search our online participating retailers list for specific information on which retailers do and do not accept scrip for charge account balances. When will I get my order? The orders are placed on Monday mornings by 9:00 A.M. and will be ready for pick up by that Friday during the scrip on hand (SOH) sales or at the designated Mass sales. When are the scrip on hand sales (SOH)? The soh sales are every Friday mornings in the St. George school cafeteria from 7:15 A.M. to 9:00 A. M., every Friday afternoon on the school balcony from 2:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. (unless it’s a fish fry and then the sales are in the cafeteria from 2:00 P.M. to 6:30 P.M.), the 1st and 3rd full weekend at the St. George Masses (Saturday 5:00 Mass & Sunday 10:30 Mass, 1st and 3rd Sundays at Berger St. Pauls 8:30 Mass, and the 2nd and 4th Sunday Masses at Rhineland Church of the Risen Savior. You may also stop at the school (go to the school office) during school hours. Where can I place an order? You may come to any of the soh sales to place your order, drop off at the St. George school office, send with a St. George school family, or place in the church collection basket marked SCRIP. How can I pay for my order? We currently only accept cash and check for your orders. How can we enroll our business in the SCRIP program? We are always grateful to the businesses to join our program! It’s actually very simple and quick to join. You can request a form by calling the school, email the SCRIP program at scrip@stgeorge-hermann.com or click on the business enrollment link and print out a copy and send back to school. If a vendor is not on the vendor list, does that mean that they won’t join? While we try to keep the vendor list current, on a daily basis, new vendors join and also participating vendors may decide to not participate any more or they may change their denominations or percentage. If you don’t see a vendor on the list that you would like to see join, please, contact the SCRIP program and we will see if we can get them to join.
