Our physical & health education department strives to build knowledgeable and healthy students who will stay active for a lifetime. We use a variety of activities to keep students interested and motivated in exercise to ensure our students are getting the maximum benefits of physical education. |
Physical Education: enables students to understand the development of their bodies, enjoy sports as a participant, spectator, or referee. We study and explore the concepts and principles of human movement, including the development of motor skills, perceptual skills, coordination, strength, stamina, fitness, recreational pursuits, the prevention of injury and the promotion of wellness and health.
Health Education: is designed to enhance the awareness and knowledge of healthy lifestyle choices. We will examine all aspects of wellness and quality of life while reinforcing the student ability to advocate and make healthy choices for their overall health. In addition to the focus on individual wellness and health, the student will be challenged to practice healthy lifestyle choices and understand how those choices affect their families, community, and society.
About me:After teaching for about a decade in the St. Louis Archdiocese, I stayed home for the last few years.
I am a gradate of UMSL and spent my most recent time teaching PE for 9 years at Christ, Prince of Peace Elementary in St. Louis County. I am certified K-9 and really enjoy the elementary setting.
A few items to note. The students will be calling me Mr. Wolff. A teacher's job is different from a coach. All grades will have lots of movement and put into practice what makes our school Catholic, especially sportsmanship and respect.
I have learned a great deal over the years and am ready to put that knowledge along with a love of our faith to good use.
I come from a small town and appreciate the charm of a place like Hermann. I look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible and doing what I can to help the community grow. I am always happy to discuss anything with you whenever possible.
I will be here for the Home and School meetings and will likely stay in Hermann after school those days if that would work for you as at time to meet and greet.
